The ‘console war’ is at its peak as we gear up for the release of the next-gen Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. It is natural for brands to call out their competitors once in a while. The more subtle the comment is, the better. But Xbox chief Phil Spencer has been anything but subtle while talking about PlayStation. Despite him being vocal, as a brand, Xbox is still taking subtle digs at Playstation and this one is actually pretty good.
Recently, Sony answered a few questions regarding the current PS4 accessories that may/may not work for the PS5. One of the most notable revelations was the news regarding the PS4 controller.

No, we believe that PS5 games should take advantage of the new capabilities and features we’re bringing to the platform, including the features of DualSense wireless controller.
This news would’ve bummed out a lot of PS fans. But Xbox saw this as an opportunity to get in a few words of its own.

Well played Xbox. This came just hours after the official PlayStation announcement regarding the accessories. It may not be that subtle but Xbox has managed to make its point here.
This is something Phil Spencer has also mentioned in an earlier comment on the Xbox Wire.

“Your Xbox One gaming accessories come into the future with you, too. The Xbox Elite Controller and Xbox Adaptive Controller all work on Xbox Series X, so you don’t have to purchase new controllers. We believe that your investments in gaming should move with you into the next generation.”
This is a big win for Xbox. Even though PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller will offer a completely different experience with the new games, it still involves people spending the extra money to play those games.
All in all, it sure is entertaining to see the brands gear up for the reveal of their respective consoles. Big things are going down on Holiday 2020 and we can’t wait to see who comes out on top.
