Triple H was on a media call immediately after the conclusion of NXT Takeover: XXX. Pat McAfee and his WWE future were among the biggest questions on everyone’s mind.
As per Adam Silverstein of CBS Sports, Hunter gave a positive update on McAfee’s in-ring career. Triple H believes that McAfee is not done with professional wrestling. In fact, it seems like he has tasted blood and wants to continue the hunt.

These comments indicate that McAfee might become a more regular occurence on NXT Television. There is a sea of talent on the Black and Gold brand that he can feud with. Over time, his physical style of wrestling might transition into a more skill based approach.

Pat McAfee and Adam Cole proved all their detractors wrong. They put on a wrestling clinic, defying popular perceptions.
McAfee displayed the moves that he had been practising rigorously. These included a picture perfect Summersault and a swanton bomb.
At one point, he knocked Cole off with a deadly punt kick. It seemed like the unthinkable had happened and McAfee would walk out with the victory. Thankfully, Cole kicked out at the last moment.

This led to some desperation from McAfee as he attempted an untimely top rope maneuver. That’s not a mistake that you make against a seasoned competitor like Cole. The leader of The Undisputed Era landed a super kick right on the button. He followed it with a Panama Sunrise and pinned McAfee for a hard fought victory.

The future of both these Superstars hangs in the balance now. It seems like The Undisputed Era have finished their business on NXT and should move to the main roster. On the other hand, McAfee might just be getting started. The next episode should unveil some much needed answers.
