Serena Williams’ father Richard Williams once revealed a frightening incident

Serena once suffered several blood clots in her lungs while recovering from a major foot injury. Richard Williams recalled that frightening incident and stated how he feared for Serena’s life. He also revealed that Serena required immediate surgery as she had a number of blood clots in her lungs.

Richard Williams stated, “I just thought she was going to die,” and described it as “just too much.”

She underwent surgery, but Richard said one of his unorthodox suggestions helped her in the recovery. He spoke about how Serena chimed in to paint a fence and started feeling better, “My wife and Serena painted the fence. And Serena felt better, I believe, from that day on.”

It was the unusual idea of painting the fence that helped the tennis player in her recuperation.

Moreover, ‘King’ Richard has always been a strong supporter of her daughters, Venus, and Serena Williams. He has guided his daughters to become the best tennis players of all time.
