All tennis fans are hooked onto the 2020 French Open, and it hasn’t disappointed them so far. Like any Grand Slam, Roland Garros has got to a stage where we can identify the potential champions; they are – Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Dominic Thiem. However, Rafa’s coach and former World No. 1 Carlos Moya believes that some other players could sweep up the prize. In a recent interview, he said,
“They are the top three favorites, but there are others who are playing well. I don’t think there is a surprise when it comes to seeing a winner here. For me, it would not be a surprise if Tsitsipas, Rublev, or Zverev win the tournament. There are three that are more favorites than the others, but I wouldn’t consider it a major surprise if it happens.”

Carlos Moya may believe that many people have a chance at this year’s French Open. However, he is only hoping for one player to win and that is his student – Rafael Nadal. He has the opportunity to equal Roger Federer’s Grand Slam record and etch his name in history. However, his road to achieving that feat is going to be very tricky.
That’s primarily due to the unfavorable conditions. Since the event is being played in September, the weather is a lot cooler with a chance of rain, something that has never suited Rafa. So far, it has not affected him at all but it could very well impact him in the upcoming matches.
In addition to this, the Spaniard has a very unfavorable draw. He could face Alexander Zverev and Dominic Thiem en route to the final. Clearly, he has a tough challenge ahead of him. However, he is the 12-time champion in Paris for a reason, and he will surely find a way to surprise the doubters.
