The dream event of every equestrian is the Olympics. With the Paris Olympics 2024 games approaching near and fast riders are willing to give it their best and are working day and night to qualify for it. There are contests and championships being held to help these athletes achieve their Olympic dream. These events are a chance for them to qualify for the big equestrian event next year.
In Australia, the Brisbane CDI and Queensland State Dressage Championships are currently underway at the Queensland State Equestrian Center, Tuckeroo Drive, Caboolture. The event saw participation from talented riders of different ages and backgrounds competing to achieve the single goal of crossing the Olympic criteria barrier. There were some incredible performances that garnered praise from the spectators and equestrian enthusiasts.
The Equestrian Championship witnessed smashing performances

The prestigious equestrian championship the Brisbane CDI and Queensland State Dressage Championships is witnessing epic performances with the progress of the event. This is the event where the riders get the chance to qualify for the Paris Olympics by crossing the minimum criteria. As per the FEI rule the rider has to achieve a minimum of 67% at a grand prix event. According to Facebook posts by Ryan Horses, fascinating results have started to arrive at the CDI3* Grand Prix.
During the Grand Prix event, four riders were successful in crossing the barrier of the minimum criteria for the Olympics. The first was Alexis Hellyer who rode Danerys and scored 67.304%. Another one was her partner Elliot Patterson who has 435th world ranking in dressage. He rode Del Piero ZF and scored 68.522%. The third one was the young nineteen-year-old rider Jessica Dertell. She currently holds the 354th position in the dressage world ranking.
The young star rode Cennin and scored an incredible 69.522%. She improved on her last performance at the event last year where she won with the same horse scoring 67.652%. The last one was the sixty-nine-year-old Aussie legend Mary Hanna, who rode the ten-year-old horse Ivanhoe and scored a massive 71.348%. Ivanhoe was the legend’s new partner at the Grand Prix and he didn’t disappoint her.

The Brisbane CDI and Queensland State Dressage Championships will be held between the 14th -17th of September at the Queensland State Equestrian Center. It is Queensland’s premier dressage event with riders from across Australia participating in it.
The grand prix will have dressage events for those under 25, for young riders between 16-21 years of age, for 14-18 years old, and for 12-16 years of age. This year the grand prix provides the opportunity to qualify for the Paris Olympics. Apart from the events, the Brisbane CDI has a highlight in the form of a trade village which creates a festival atmosphere and attracts visitors.

The incredible performance by the four riders at the Grand Prix and qualifying for the Olympic barrier is a piece of good news for Australia and the country looks forward to epic performances from them in the future.
