The Spotify issue surrounding Joe Rogan keeps becoming complicated with every passing hour. As per several sources, the platform has taken down many podcast episodes from ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’. While many have reported that about 70 episodes are missing, the number might be more than that.
According to a website called ‘JRE Missing’, 113 episodes have been taken down. It lists every episode that Spotify has deleted. The episodes that have been taken down include Amy Schumer, Andy Dick, Marc Maron, and several others as guests. This move has left several fans confused as Rogan’s podcast was bringing in millions of viewers.

What is JRE Missing?
JRE Missing is a website that tracks the number of episodes removed from Rogan’s podcast. It can detect videos that are not available on Spotify. While Joe Rogan’s podcast is in hot soup, JRE Missing is helping fans keep a track of the number of missing episodes. The simple website has a database of all episodes that were released. So it works by comparing with Spotify’s API and checking which released podcast episode is no longer available on Spotify.
After the news of the episodes being deleted broke, people have been referring to this website to see if more episodes are being removed. JRE Missing can only detect within the US market space. Hence, it is possible that the deleted episodes might be available on Spotify in other countries.

Spotify’s action also comes as a surprise because, just a while back, they had removed Neil Young’s music when the musician was not happy being on the same platform as Rogan.

Rolling Stone came ahead to give an explanation. According to their report, the now-deleted episodes had problematic or extremely controversial content. The UFC commentator has not yet commented on this recent development.

However, he took to Instagram to discuss a particular compilation video that portrayed him saying stuff without proper context. It seems to have disturbed Rogan quite a lot.
When did Joe Rogan move to Spotify?
In a recent interview with CNBC Television, Spotify’s CEO Daniel Ek spoke about the ongoing controversy. He mentioned that they have complied with the requests of the scientific community.

Rogan’s podcast was first available on YouTube. In 2020, however, he moved to Spotify. But many noticed that about 40 of his previous episodes disappeared from the platform. His work on Spotify brought in tons of audiences. While he received pushback earlier too, the recent backlash is large.
Because of being in such a difficult situation, Rogan has been receiving a lot of support from his fans. But fans might have to wait for Rogan to speak about his deleted episodes.
