Former MMA fighter Laura Sanko has successfully made a name for herself as a media personality. She gained tons of experience as a backstage reporter for the UFC and now plans to transition to commentary. Commentators add to the hype and experience of watching a fight live. So it is a huge responsibility for Sanko.
However, Sanko feels she is ready for it. She took on commentary responsibilities at LFA and Season 5 of Dana White’s contender Series. She has made a lot of progress and aspiring to commentate at UFC is only natural.
In a recent interview, Sanko said (h/t MMA Junkie), “For the next, I would like to be able to call- not that I don’t love the Contender Series, it’s my baby- but I would like to be able to call some Fight Nights. The UFC does things for a reason and the people above me who make those decisions make them with lots of things in mind. So I’m certainly not looking past all that, but the reality is, that’s what I want to do. I know I’m capable of doing it. I feel like I’ve proved it.”

Viewers loved Sanko’s work and agree that she deserves to commentate for one of the best MMA promotions. Having worked with several commentators, Sanko would be a great addition to the Fight Nights.

Sanko further said, “The experience of Contender Series was great because it’s 10 weeks in a row, I did every single show. Got to work with Paul, got to work with DC, got to work with Michael Bisping. So a lot of reps. A lot of reps with different people. Let’s do it.”
Why should Laura Sanko get a chance?
Laura Sanko has already demonstrated she is great on the mic. She has received an overwhelmingly positive response for her commentary work. With adequate experience on the job and a good response from viewers, it would be a delight to see her alongside other commentators.

@bisping, @felderpaul and @BrendanFitzTV are always great in any setting, but I feel like @DanHellie really came into his own this season, and that @laura_sanko really delivered throughout with her long-overdue debut in a commentary role as well.
