UFC 252, headlined by Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic, has garnered attention from all over the world for all the obvious reasons.

While the heavyweight gladiators will put a quell to their epic rivalry, the undercard of the event will also witness some intense combats. Livia Renata Souza and Ashley Yoder will lock horns against each other in a women’s strawweight bout of the preliminary card.

Both the contenders are yet to make it big in the promotion. Thus, they would seemingly give it all inside the cage. Here’s how their upcoming battle might look like.

UFC 252 Preview- Livia Renata Souza vs Ashley Yoder

Souza (2-1) in UFC, faced her second loss of pro-MMA career against Brianna Van Buren on July 13, 2019. Before that, ‘The Brazilian Gangsta’ was on a two-fight win streak in the promotion.

She made her UFC debut against Alex Chambers in September 2018 and won the contest via first-round guillotine choke. Souza also dominated in her second appearance against Sarah Frota, in the Fight Night event on February 2020.

Although the fight went to the judge’s scorecard, Souza claimed a comfortable and impressive victory against Frota. She will be aiming for the feat once again against Yoder at UFC 252.

Yoder would also try to get back to the win column. Currently, she flexes a UFC record of 2 wins and four losses.

She paved her way into the UFC against Justine Kish in 2018 and suffered a loss via decision. She reappeared again in 2017 and 2018, facing similar misfortunes against Angela Hill and Mackenzie Dern.

Although she notched two consecutive wins from that point, she fell trap to Randa Markos once again in October 2019. Thus, she desperately needs a win against Souza to revive her falling supremacy.

Southpaw vs Orthodox

Souza, the orthodox fighter, could dominate the fight for all the three rounds However, being an MMA contest, any of them can possibly shut light for the other.

Yet, Souza remains comfortable with both feet and mat. Although none of the contenders have proven to be knockout specialists until now, the upcoming contest can clearly bring a change.

Despite all the speculations, Souza still stands as a favorite over Yoder.
