India defeated Afghanistan 2-1 to lift the 2015 SAFF Cup in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. Afghanistan took the lead in the 70th minute from Zubayr Amiri, but it was cancelled just after 3 minutes by India’s Jeje Lalpekhlua.
Indian captain Sunil Chhetri then rose to the challenge as he scored the winner in the 10th minute of the extra-time to give India a sweet revenge of their 2013 final loss to Afghanistan.
