Among Us is the latest internet sensation and has managed to captivate audiences across ages. Not only is the game easy to understand, but its simplicity is what makes it so immersive and fun to play. Surprisingly, this is not a new game as it was released back in 2018. Peculiarly, it shot to fame only recently.

It has now become one of the most streamed games on YouTube Gaming and Twitch. The biggest reason behind it is that it allows a custom lobby of up to 10 players. This makes it easier for pro gamers to play and stream together, eventually adding to its entertainment value. Streamers like Ninja, Shroud, TimTheTatman, and CouRage have all been enjoying this game recently.

CouRage heaped praise on Among Us via a tweet. “Among Us released in November 2018… In its first 6 months, it had a peak average player count of 8.2 people Yesterday, it peaked at 388,385 players on Steam. It’s currently the 3rd highest played game, the most viewed game on Twitch, and is taking over YouTube. Never give up.”

This is a fantastic achievement that puts a lot of things into perspective. Both Fall Guys and Among Us are absolutely simple games. There is no dependence on cutting edge graphics or complex gaming mechanics, whatsoever. This makes one wonder if it is the simplicity that makes games so much fun.

The news of a sequel being in the works will make a lot of fans happy. It’ll be interesting to see what the developers add/change in the sequel to make it even more fun than it already is.
