The Los Angeles Lakers have finally snapped off a 10-year absence from the NBA finals. Major credit goes to the dynamic duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. If it weren’t for them, who knows how long this terrific franchise might have been deprived of success.
But in the NBA, when two players of James and Davis’ caliber team up together, there is always a risk of egos clashing. In fact, this was the major reason why Laker legends Kobe and Shaq broke up back in the 2000s.
However, with LBJ and AD, the two stars complement each other perfectly. Their chemistry was on full display in the postseason, and the duo is just three games away from winning an NBA championship.

Lakers’ reporter Mike Trudell revealed James and Davis’ thoughts on why the duo are perfect for each other.
“LeBron on him and AD: ‘We’re not jealous of each other.’ He explained that jealousy can creep in when two Alpha dogs team up when both has been the guy on another team. That hasn’t been the case, at all, with him and AD. They’ve been on the same page looking for mutual success.”

“Anthony Davis on LeBron’s point about the lack of jealousy between them: ‘When you have two guys who are very selfless and want to win as bad as both of us want to, the rest of it goes away and takes care of itself. Jealousy has never been a thing on our team for anyone.'”

This love on and off the court is the reason why the Lakers are in an excellent position right now. If they can keep up this level of trust and chemistry, the Lakers will go home as champions of the world!

In Game 1 of the NBA Finals, LBJ and AD put on a scoring display for the fans. While James was just an assist shy of a 25 point triple-double, Davis took care of the offensive load and finished the game with 34 points.

Looking back at the game, they were a notch above the Heat in all but the first few minutes of the game. Moreover, when your superstars perform at an elite level, it carves a path for the role-players as well.
Lakers’ supporting players stepped up their games and were phenomenal when it mattered the most. But is it enough to eliminate the grit and grind Miami Heat team? We will find out over the next few weeks.
