The league was suspended on March 11 after Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19.
However, the Lakers had an excellent season till the suspension of the NBA due to the powerful performance of LeBron James. They have worked well as a unit and it has made their General Manager Rob Pelinka a much happier man. He sounded optimistic about the future while speaking to 710 AM ESPN Radio.
Pelinka is impressed with Frank Vogel, who is in the midst of his first season as the with the Lakers’ head coach. He has been instrumental in pushing the Lakers to the top. Speaking about him, Pelinka said:
” I wanted a really optimistic person with all these situations now, he is really optimistic which is contagious.”
He also praised Vogel for the healthy relationship he maintains with his players. “The relationship he has with LeBron and AD is so good to see,” stated Pelinka.
Jason Kidd who is the assistant coach of the Lakers team was also praised by the GM.
“Jason Kidd has the ability to build relation and strong connection between the players in the roster. This excites us all as an organization.”

He stated that he feels very grateful to the people who put a lot of work towards achieving their goal. “We haven’t had a chance to take a final exam yet,” he said. “We do hope we get a chance to finish what we started.”
No one clearly knows when the league might resume again. Pelinka stated that their unit should still be looking for avenues on how it might be played off. He feels somehow the season should be concluded with a champion being crowned.
