Luka Doncic channeled his inner beast to put up a mighty performance against the Clippers in Game 4. It almost felt like destiny when Luka made the game-winner. He was clearly the hero for the Mavs. On the other hand, Doc Rivers really missed seeing Paul Geroge firing his shots. PG13 had a disastrous Game 4, a one to forget.

Paul George who is a foundational player for the Clippers failed miserably in Game 4, where he could have helped his team gain a 3-1 lead in the series. Unsurprisingly, we all know that PG13 is experiencing a shooting slump. What does head coach Doc Rivers have to say about it?

“Just let him keep shooting,” Rivers said, as per ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk. “We clearly got to get him more shots. And that’s on us, on all of us. [He got] great looks and I just want him to get more of those and take more of those.”

Rivers knows the quality of a player like Paul George. Rightfully, he’s backing his team’s star player, preparing him better for the future. Doc Rivers instilled his confidence in George, which will certainly raise the motivation levels of the 30-year-old.

“He needs to shoot 20-plus times, he needs to get the ball up in the air,” Doc Rivers added. “And he will. I feel very confident about PG because I always have.”

Hey, we are used to seeing PG break records that make a massive statement right? However, the tables have turned for him in the first round of the 2020 NBA Playoffs. George made a good start by scoring 27.0 points in Game 1. However, it all went downhill from there.

Over the next three-games, PG put up uncharacteristic performances after the other. He’s only averaging 11.3 points in the recent three games. Moreover, his FG% in Games 2,3, and 4 paints a very sorry picture.

Paul George failed to shoot above the 25% mark for three straight games, which makes him the first player to record such an embarrassing stat since Bob Cousy did it in 1960. In the most recent game, George could only contribute 9.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists for the team. We are pretty sure that he will soon bounce back from the slump.
