After impressing in his trails with the Los Angeles Lakers, Dion Waiters has reportedly signed a contract with them for the remainder of the season.

Waiters, who has previously played alongside LeBron James, is set to team up with him again. Coming out of the Syracuse after playing two years of college basketball, Waiters started his NBA career in 2012. It was when the Cleveland Cavaliers drafted him in with the fourth overall pick. Prior to his third season with the club, Cleveland announced the return of their superstar LeBron James. It was when Waiters teamed up with James, However, the pair did not last long with Waiters failing to impress in a supporting role with James.

Waiters was then traded to Oklahoma City Thunder as the Cavaliers built a Championship team. Five years later, Waiters is once again expected to team up with James, this time in purple and gold. Shams Charania of The Athletic reported via Twitter that Waiters has agreed on a deal with the Lakers for the remainder of the season.

Los Angeles Lakers expecting Dion Waiters to add to their roster depth

Although the Lakers have one of the most talented rosters in the league, they have been looking for players to increase their bench strength. Someone who can score when the likes of James and Anthony Davis need rest.

The Lakers have failed to make any signings before the February 6 trade deadline. They have been, since then, linked to a few free agents and have finally agreed to a deal with Waiters.

Roster depth becomes important competing deep into the season and the Lakers will be expecting Waiters add to it.  Over eight years in NBA, Waiters has averaged 13.2 points. 2.8 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game.
