The Phoenix Suns recently announced that the franchise will induct one of their best players into the Ring of Honor. The 4x NBA All-Star received heartwarming wishes from his fans and friends including his childhood idol Reggie Miller. The sharpshooter, Miller is well known for his clutch performances and unapologetic trash-talking. His thrilling on-court performance has always enticed the other players and fans alike.
Former Phoenix Suns player Shawn Marion is also one of them. As the legend got inducted into the Suns’ Ring of Honor, Marion was also bestowed upon with his idol’s heartwarming tribute.
Reggie Miller’s touching homage to Shawn Marion

The Phoenix Suns paid homage to the franchise icon Marion, commemorating his illustrious career by inducting him into the esteemed Ring of Honor at Footprint Center. The ceremony saw the attendance of Marion’s family members, former teammates, and esteemed members already enshrined in the Ring of Honor. His former teammate Dirk Nowitzki was also present at the event. The Matrix is the 16th Phoenix Suns player to join the Ring of Honor. His uniform number will also be retired on December 15. Numerous including Jerry Colangelo gave speeches to appreciate his contributions.
In a clip from the event, Marion was asked about which basketball player he grew up watching, to which he proudly declared Miller as his favorite. The former Pacers player shared that clip on his IG to congratulate him. As a tribute to Marion’s exceptional contributions, Miller also extended his wishes to him. Alongside the story, he wrote, “Congratulations @Matrix31 on your Ring of Honor with the @suns. Well earned and deserved my friend.”
Watching Miller’s old highlights, one can understand why Marion held him in such high regard. That admiration transformed into Marion’s own signature style on the court.

It was a true delight to watch the legend dominate the league with the Indiana Pacers. The same thing can be said about Marion. Marion also held Chicago Bulls player Scottie Pippen in high regard. His game was a living tribute to his childhood hoops heroes.
