While Dating Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez Needed Just 3 Words to Throw Shade Bitter Rival Mariah Carey’s Career

For the last few years, Jennifer Lopez has been in the headlines for her romantic life, such as her highly publicized relationship and breakup with Yankees star Alex Rodriguez. The two were further linked when she got back together with ex-fiance Ben Affleck shortly after the breakup with A-Rod.

She was in the headlines again when she married Ben Affleck. But this wasn’t always the case. JLo once threw shade at another pop music icon, Mariah Carey, while answering a question on a show. Notably, JLo and Carey have had a beef going on since the late 90s, and the comment that JLo made in 2018 only confirmed that there is still a rift between the two.

During an appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,’ in 2018, Lopez shaded Carey while answering a question. Cohen asked JLo, “If you were in Las Vegas for one night and could only see one show. Would you rather see Mariah or Britney perform?”

To which the pop sensation replied without hesitation, “Britney, cause she dances”. The answer seems to have been a dig at Carey and her supposed lack of dancing skills. Carey never replied to this particular interview, but the feud between the two continues to this day.

Their feud started when Carey famously said that she didn’t know JLo during an interview in the early 2000s. Carey continued the feud in later years, and JLo retaliated. The two have never officially met, and it doesn’t look like they will anytime soon. But they may make further statements regarding their beef. Although the two pop icons have their fair share of differences, they have one very interesting thing in common.

JLo and Carey have both dated Yankee stars, although at different times. Carey famously dated Derek Jeter for about a year in the late 90s. Lopez, as mentioned earlier, was in a 4-year relationship with A-Rod.
