The 2023 MLB postseason has taken a strange new turn. After witnessing two unexpected teams in the ultimate battle, disbelieving fans are questioning the players. The first game of the Fall Classic was full of unbelievable moments, along with the victory falling in the Texas Rangers’ favor. The Cuban outfielder Adolis García was phenomenal to witness against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 1 of the World Series. Incidentally, Texas also won in the dramatic department.

Arizona was in the lead in Game 1, but Corey Seager came down to rescue the Rangers. The game took a turn when García gave yet another clutch moment to give his team a win. But it has also invited unsavory questions.

When the score was tied at 5-5, Adolis García took the spotlight and stepped up to bat. The slugger was facing a 3-1 count with one out, but he wasn’t fazed facing reliever Miguel Castro. Seizing the win for Rangers in game 1 with a massive moonshot deep to the right, it was a thrilling comeback. To add to it, the performance came while he was injured.

In his previous at-bat in the ninth inning, El Bombi had taken a hit-by-pitch to the wrist. Although Garcia insisted “It’s good,” the offensive coordinator Donnie Ecker said “He’s in pain. He’s got enough chemicals going through his body right now—his dopamine’s so high that he can’t feel a thing.”  So not only was the Cuban slugger on fire at the plate, but he did it likely in pain and set a record!

With Corey Seager’s theatrics and passionate response to the home run in the bottom of the ninth, the Globe Life Field crowd was already on its feet. El Bombi’s incredible postseason run, continuing in Game 1 of the World Series, was equally adrenaline-inducing. But not for everyone.
