Yankees legend Alex Rodriguez was once pretty close to getting traded to the Boston Red Sox. And even though A-Rod is not a person to overthink what-ifs in his life, when asked about it, he had some answers.

But that did not materialize. In a recent interview, A-Rod answered what would have happened had he got traded to the Boston Red Sox.

What did Alex Rodriguez say about being in the Red Sox?

The former Yankee said he would have been a good player in the Red Sox. Alex was in the New York Yankees. And if he had gone to the Red Sox, it would have been even better for baseball.

Alex said, “I think I would have been a great fit. I think it would be great for baseball. Cause it would have created, you know, Jeter at short, me at short, and Papi and I. I think it would have made a really cool story for baseball. That’s what really got me excited, and the opportunity to win the championship.”

How incredible it would have been to see Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez in the Boston Red Sox, unfortunately, it did not happen. Alternate realities sometimes might seem desirable or even better than one’s current reality. But the what ifs remain the what ifs. They cannot happen, just like any what if would not change Alex going in the Red Sox.
