Colby Covington is back to winning ways. He most recently took on Tyron Woodley and seemingly ended his career in some sort. He pushed his opponent to the limits and took the win via a TKO in the fifth round.
The fight against Woodley took years to materialize, and Covington didn’t see a different outcome at any other time as well. Speaking with Submission Radio, he said, “It goes back to my model, to the way I live. Promises made and promises kept. And that’s exactly what I did boys! I went out there and did exactly what I was going to do. I said, ‘If Tyron Woodley doesn’t leave the octagon in a stretcher, then I didn’t do my job.’”

He continued, “That exactly what happened. I left him in a stretcher. But let me tell you one thing, I did some bad thing to Woodley, and he left in a stretcher. Jorge Masvidal is leaving in a body bag when we fight, I promise you that.”
The build-up to this fight against Woodley was long and drawn out, and it will be similar if Covington is to face Masvidal.
Colby Covington Vs Jorge Masvidal
The Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal rivalry dates back to the time ‘Chaos’ was still part of the American Top Team. Their feud has been on forever, and the duo has been eagerly waiting to get their hands on each other. The former UFC interim champion parted ways with the gym a while ago for his misdemeanor with several members of the gym, including ‘Gamebred’.

Their friendship turned rivalry will prove to be a great storyline for the fight that is being targeted for December. Covington has already expressed his desire to finish off Masvidal and have him leave the octagon in a body bag.
Masvidal most recently filled in for Gilbert Burns at UFC 251, where he challenged Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title in a losing effort. Who do you see walking out of this saga with the victory if the UFC books the duo to fight?
