Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has dropped a few hints regarding the possible January signings to add to the Real Madrid firepower. The team somehow wrangled a 3-2 win over Malaga on Saturday. Los Blancos were made to sweat twice by their relegation-threatened visitors at the Bernabeu. Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winner on the rebound after seeing his penalty saved and Real could breathe again.

This win means that Real move to within seven points of Barcelona in the championship standings. Barca play second-placed Valencia at the Mestalla on Sunday. Zidane admitted that his side found the game against Malaga difficult. The Frenchman said, “In the winter market, there will be no exits but anything can happen in terms of arrivals, we will see. We started the game strongly, and managed to get the first goal which is always important, but they came back at us quickly. We got the second and then after the half-hour mark, we couldn’t keep the ball. Possession is one of our weapons and we lost the ball too often today. The second half was tough. We’re happy with the result because Malaga are a team with real character and at 2-2 with not long left, we managed to net the third goal. Some things were good, and others weren’t exactly as we would have liked.”
Real Madrid are the current La Liga and Champions League holders. However, they currently sit fourth in the Spanish top flight and finished second behind Tottenham Hotspur in Group H of the UEFA Champions League. If the rumours do hold true that Real Madrid are banking on January signings to bolster the squad, things will be interesting.
Zizou later confirmed that no player will be let go by the team. In other words, rumours of the injury-plagued Gareth Bale jumping ship have fallen flat. Zidane insisted that he is keen to retain the services of the Welshman despite him only making 5 appearances.
