Apart from being a tough player with a huge serve to trouble any opponent, Canadian Vasek Pospisil is an influential figure on the ATP Tour. As a member of the ATP Players Council, Pospisil was given the job of being a player representative for a certain section of the players. However, the Canadian has now resigned from his position. He cited his displeasure with the ATP structure in his statement.
Pospisil expressed in a tweet on Saturday that he will step down from his role. He said that in the current structure of the ATP, it is very difficult to have an impact on important decisions on the Tour, despite his position.

“After 2 years on the ATP player council, I am resigning from my position as the player representative for the 51-100 ranking positions,” Pospisil said in his statement. “It has become clear that, as a player council member within the current structure of the ATP, it is very difficult, if not impossible, to have any significant impact on any major decisions made by our tour,” he added.
However, Pospisil, said that he leaves ‘holding his head high’. He is happy with his work in the last two years.
“I am proud to say I have always fought for what I believed to be right and, in doing so, never compromised my integrity. My sole mission on the council was to represent my peers well. And I’m extremely proud to have done that to the best of my abilities. I leave holding my head high,” the statement from the world number 92 added.
