Federer-Nadal. Fedal. Possibly what any tennis fan will call a cherry on the cake. A fourth meeting this year for Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal is on the cards, as they gear up for tomorrow’s finals in Shanghai. 2017 has given Tennis fans enough reasons to remember with the rise of the two legends of the sport, but it seems that more is in store for us.

Rafael Nadal got past Marin Cilic in two tight sets, while Roger Federer had to battle past the Argentine Juan Martin Del Potro in three sets.

While Federer and Nadal have a head to head of 14-23 respectively against each other, it is Roger Federer who is leading 3-0 in their matches in 2017. With Nadal’s incredible form, it’ll be certainly difficult for Roger to break him down this time around. The Spaniard will look to extend his 15 game winning streak while cementing his position as the player to end 2017 on the #1 spot.

Rafa’s semifinal match was against Marin Cilic where he dominated the Croatian 7-5,7-6(7-3) to book a place in the finals. For Roger Federer it was a not so easy win in the semifinals playing against the ‘comeback king’ Juan del Porto where he took the victory by a score of 3-6,6-3,6-3.

After having won 2 grand slams each this year, Federer and Nadal will look to end their respective season on a high by taking on the Shanghai masters on Sunday as we draw closer towards the end of the season. While Federer has won the tournament once in 2014, Nadal is yet to do so.
