The new Concorde deal was recently signed by all the 10 Formula 1 teams. Initially, Mercedes’ Team Principal expressed his dissatisfaction with the new agreement. However, after a few discussions, he signed it as well. Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto expressed his satisfaction as the agreement came to a conclusion. Mattia believes the agreement ‘is a great result for F1’.
“I suppose very satisfied that it came to an end, a long discussion starting almost two years ago. What has been achieved is a great result for F1 and Scuderia Ferrari as well,” Mattia stated.
The Concorde deal is an essential aspect of Formula 1. It directs how the teams would be racing and how prize money and revenues should be distributed. Mattia believes Ferrari got the deal which was ‘essential’ for the team.

“At least we got what was essential for us, which was to keep the importance of our brand, importance of F1. We’ve maintained what we call the protectional right, the veto right which I guess is a status important for Ferrari.”
Legacy of Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel

Mattia believes that the legacy of Ferrari is important for F1. Retaining the veto power was important for them. As it reflects the long legacy that Ferrari boasts of in the world of Formula 1.
“We can always get more, get less. It is important what we have achieved.”
In terms of performance, Ferrari has been struggling for quite some time. Young Charles Leclerc has been brilliant and single-handedly pulled Ferrari this season.

Sebastian Vettel, on the other hand, has been struggling with his form. With only two finishes in the Top-10, Sebastian is really looking for a performance boost across the remainder of the season.
After a couple of good seasons, Sebastian finds himself in an utter mess. The Italian team is all set to replace Sebastian with Carlos Sainz. Speculation of Sebastian joining Racing Point is gaining more momentum by the day. However, a formal contract is yet to materialize.
