Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir recently made headlines by donating a huge amount of Rs. 50 lakhs for coronavirus treatment equipments.?

Coronavirus is a major threat to the world right now. The virus is growing rapidly in India. The confirmed coronavirus cases reached 500 in the country while 10 people have lost their lives. India is a developing country and is not very advanced in terms of medical facilities and equipment. As a result, many medical machines and medicines are exported which requires capital.?

Therefore, Gautam Gambhir donated Rs 50 lakh from his MPLAD fund for this noble cause. Gambhir posted a letter to Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Twitter for the same.?

Gambhir wrote: ?In furtherance of the united effort to save our city and citizens from this pandemic, I would like to pledge Rs 50 lakh from my MPLAD fund for equipment that may be needed for COVID-19 treatment in state government hospitals.

?Kindly direct the officers in charge to let my office know about the requirements and please let me know if I could be of any other assistance.?

Gautam Gambhir slams quarantine offenders?

India observed Janta Curfew on Sunday from 7 am to 9 pm on the request of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This was done to prevent the further spread of the COVID-19 virus. It was a huge success.

Almost everyone obliged to the PM’s decision and stayed indoors on Sunday. Also, section-144 is imposed in many places in the country due to which no more than 4 people can be present at a public place. However, some people came on roads after the curfew ended at 9 pm

This violation of rules didn’t go well with the cricketer turned politician Gautam Gambhir. He lashed out at such people and also gave them some peace of mind through his tweet.?

Gambhir tweeted, “Khud bhee jayenge aur parivaar ko bhee leke jayenge, quarantine or jail (either you go to quarantine with family or you go to jail)?

?Don?t be a threat to society. We are at war for our existence, not for our livelihood. Follow the government?s lockdown guidelines,? he added.

Coronavirus is a contagious disease that spreads after coming in contact with an infected person. Therefore, the government has imposed complete lockdown in the country to curb this deadly virus.?
