Greg Rusedski insists Novak Djokovic should have taken responsibility for his actions

Former British No.1 and Grand Slam finalist, Greg Rusedski, was in favor of the decision taken against Djokovic. He also slammed Novak for not taking responsibility for his actions by missing the press conference.

“Unbelievable that @DjokerNole has been defaulted. This was the correct decision under the rules regardless of intent or not. Novak should have stayed for the press conference  & apologize. We must take responsibility for our actions no matter how difficult the situation is,” Rusedski tweeted.

Djokovic displayed visible frustration throughout the short-lived match. At 5-4, Djokovic had 3 set points on Carreno Busta’s serve. However, he failed to convert any of them.

Subsequently, Novak showed his frustration by slamming a spare ball on the side of the court. In the next game – Djokovic was broken – further escalating his frustration.

This was the straw that finally broke the camel’s back. Djokovic took out another ball and the darkest chapter of his career unfolded.
