Roger Federer was a player who took Swiss tennis to new heights. Seeing him win title after title gave the young aspiring players of Switzerland hope. Along with him, Stanislas Wawrinka has also inspired the younger generation. Belinda Bencic is another Swiss player who could win slams and continue the glory of Swiss tennis. At least, that is what a former coach of Federer believes.

Roger Federer’s former coach believes in Bencic

Bencic is a player who was making everyone run rounds in the junior circuit. She was ranked 1 in 2013 after she had won several grade 1 tournaments. However, Bencic’s career after she started playing senior tournaments has not been the reflection of her junior career. Her best record in grand slams so far has been the semifinal in the 2019 US Open.

Lundgren firmly believes that the 26-year-old has what it takes to win a slam sometime in the near future.
