One of the most loud-mouthed fighters in boxing currently is the YouTube and internet sensation, Jake Paul. The Ohio-born fighter has sold huge arenas and millions of dollars in pay-per-view sales. Following his journey in his boxing career, Paul has claimed that he is a future light heavyweight champion.

Paul took to Twitter to express his views on Artur Beterbiev’s knockout victory against Joe Smith Jr. The fans were quick to react to the 25-year-old’s claims.

Fans react to Jake Paul claiming to be a light heavyweight champion

‘The Problem Child’ made a bold claim after Beterbiev thrashed Smith for the unified light heavyweight championship. Following the fight, Paul stated that “In 3 years he will become the light heavyweight champion of the world.”

Paul has his fair share of haters, who were quick to let him know what they think of this idea. Hence, one fan hilariously said, “You’re not the clown… you’re the whole circus.”

Not only that, some fans brought up the opponents Paul has faced like Nate Robinson, and how they compare against the best.

Additionally, they claimed that Beterbiev would put him in “a f****** coma.”

Furthermore, fans wanted Paul to take on Joe Smith Jr. since the Ohio-born fighter mocked Smith for his fight.

Fans claimed that Smith would send Paul “into the shadow realm” as Beterbiev is a “BEAST.”

However, it wasn’t all bad for the ‘Problem Child’ as his supporters came out to show their love and faith in him. They stated that they “believe him” and called him the “champ.”

It’s too early to write the YouTuber-turned-boxer off the scene as his boxing career is just starting to take off. Only time will tell where Jake Paul will end up.

Jake Paul’s boxing career

The ‘Problem Child’ made his professional debut in January 2020 against fellow YouTuber, AnEson Gib. Paul defeated Gib in a first-round knockout. Following this emphatic debut victory by knocking out former NBA star Nate Robinson. Paul was unstoppable as he took on UFC fighters like Ben Askren and Tyrone Woodley.

Paul knocked out Askren in the first round. Furthermore, the 25-year-old defeated Woodley not once but twice with the second win coming by way of a knockout. Paul extended his undefeated run to 5-0 and looks set for his next fight in August of this year against an opponent yet to be revealed.
