Canadian tennis player Eugenie Bouchard has been out of action for a considerable amount of time. Sadly, she suffered an injury on the right shoulder and required surgery in order to compete again.

However, Bouchard’s rehabilitation process has taken longer than anticipated, and she’s been absent from the tour for close to a year now. She has been making the most of her time by keeping herself associated with the sport, and has lately started training again as well. Eugenie was an analyst as well towards the end of the season last year.

Eugenie Bouchard can handle the haters well

Recently, she uploaded a clip on social media where she was training again on tennis courts. Unfortunately, Bouchard had to deal with some offensive comments on her post. In the clip, she can be seen practicing with real intent and is working hard towards competing back on the Tour.

One individual asked her to enter an event and to try winning it. It was quite an unpleasant comment. However, Eugenie was composed and revealed that is exactly what she will try to do.

Coming to Bouchard’s rescue was former player, Rennae Stubbs. The former WTA player stated, “Do you understand how the surgery works mate? So you should know how long it takes to recover from major shoulder surgery! And not be rude. Yeah because she had shoulder surgery! And she’s still rehabbing. You ready to apologize to her now and next time maybe just say, ‘Hey Genie, great to see you back on court after all the tough months of rehab, can’t wait to finally see you back out on Tour! Try next time Alex’.”

Coming to tennis, it has been a while since we have seen Eugenie competing. However, to recover from a shoulder injury is not something players should rush into. Slowly and steadily she is getting to the level she expects to be at.

We wish her a speedy recovery and hope to see her compete the way she used to in the past. All eyes will be on her when she steps back on the courts to compete again.
