“You Have Taken That Moment..” – Trish Stratus Once Didn’t Hold Back After Cold Shoulder Incident Involving Former Intercontinental Champion

Infamous backstage incidents and WWE go hand in hand. In the company’s history, there have been more than a few notorious backstage stories that continue to be a part of the discussion even years later. Many WWE legends have been part of such antics away from the ring, which has led to friction between them and other stars.

Similarly, former WWE seven-time Women’s Champion Trish Stratus once revealed such a heated backstage moment she had with fellow star John Morrison involving her then-girlfriend Melina in 2011. The event Stratus talked about took place during WrestleMania 27.

Trish Stratus blamed Morrison for stealing a moment from the fans

The Canadian superstar decided to put an end to her decorative in-ring career back in 2006. However, she returned in 2011 at WrestleMania 27 and got united with John Morrison and famous TV personality Snooki during a six-person tag team match. The trio defeated LayCool and Dolph Ziggler on the ‘The Showcase of the Immortals’.

Following the win in that match, the returning legend apparently received a cold shoulder from teammate John Morrison twice when he turned down her attempt to raise his hand. Then, on the next episode of RAW, Morrison recreated that bizarre after he and Stratus picked up a win. There was a belief the “Shawman of Sexy’ was upset that Trish took her girlfriend Melina’s moves in that match. His antics didn’t sit well with Stratus and a heated conversation afterward.

Eight years later, during an interview with Lillian Garcia the former WWE Women’s Champion detailed the entire incident, including her broken friendship with Melina.

Recalling the moment, Trish noted, ‘We [Stratus and Morrison] had a little conversation in the back. It wasn’t a little conversation actually, it was the first time I actually, like we were passionately talking about it. But basically, I was like, ‘You just stole a moment from a performance. Whatever you feel about me, maybe you think you’re not cool with me. Which is fine, I don’t mind, but we’re performing, and tonight we’re partners, and the crowd was excited about us as a team, as a partnership. And you’ve taken that moment from the fans. And it’s like, for what, right? You can wait five seconds later, I’m gone tomorrow.”

She also tried to convey her point to the former Intercontinental Champion that she wasn’t there taking someone else’s spot. Rather, she was there for promoting the show Tough Enough as a trainer. Nevertheless, the efforts were futile.

Stratus’s potential return to WWE

The legendary female wrestler also hinted towards resuming her full-time tenure last year when she appeared on RAW but has stayed away from active in-ring competition.

However, that could change soon. Last week’s RAW witnessed another legend Lita saving the day for Becky Lynch in a match against Bayley. That has led to some speculation about Trish’s possible appearance during the upcoming RAW episode. Reports have suggested that the seven-time WWE Women’s Champion might team up with Lita and Lynch at the Elimination Chamber PLE.
