Former Grand Slam winner Marin Cilic has been one of the most impactful players in recent times. After winning the US Open in 2014, he emerged as a threat in the various events he competed in from then onwards.
Recently, Cilic was seen competing in the middle east at the Dubai Tennis Championships 2022. Sadly, he lost the first-round match against Jiri Vesely. However, there was a rare incident that took place during the match which caught everyone’s eye.
The condition was windy, and Marin failed to take advantage of it. On the contrary, he was distracted by the manner in which the umbrella of the chair umpire was moving due to the force of the wind.

It so happened that Cilic was losing points and eventually vented out his frustration towards the chair umpire for the manner in which the umbrella was moving. He was heard telling the umpire, “You have sunglasses, you have a sunshade and you have an umbrella.”

Reflecting on the match, the Croatian star went down in straight sets. During the match, Cilic could not win points on his second serve and his opponent was taking advantage of that fact. It was a close match as his Czech opponent won 6-4 7-6 (3). On the other hand, it was seeming difficult for Cilic to trouble his opponent on his serve.

Marin Cilic will look to get his season back on track
The start of the year 2022 has been a little shaky for the Croatian professional tennis player. After exiting the Australian Open in the fourth round against Felix Auger-Aliassime, this loss comes as a huge blow.
For a player of Marin’s magnitude, losing in the opening round of a tournament is a huge disappointment. However, we are still in the early days of the season.
