The Xbox Games Showcase was a bit of a rollercoaster ride. The entire event showcased a mixed bag of items, both from big houses and Indie productions. We’ve seen many instant hits, many failures, and many disappointments. Now that we have seen what both the consoles have to offer in terms of the lineup of titles, fans couldn’t help but compare them.
The games set to release for both the consoles have explored quite a variety of genres. We are truly about to experience the next-gen of gaming, not just in terms of the tech aspect, but also that of content and characterization. And that is beautiful.

Gotta give Microsoft props for bringing forth more women & people of color for their protagonists today (especially for black women). Representation matters, and to see Microsoft & the developers tied to these games deliver on that is worthy of praise. #XboxGamesShowcase pic.twitter.com/Wdoa9rrQLa

Both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 have impressive titles, but a comparison is inevitable
It is debatable, and a matter of conjecture, as to which console showcased a better lineup. We have seen a terrific lineup of indie titles for the Xbox Series X. Perhaps the most notable one is ‘As Dusk Falls’, followed by Everwild. ‘As Dusk Falls’ follows a very interesting plot along the lines of a crime drama. This is what is different from the games of the past; we have a detailed and deep storyline we couldn’t even think possible a few years ago.

We have seen a pretty good show of titles in the horror genre for the Xbox Series X. We can imagine most of these going on to become blockbusters when they drop. For example, The Medium has two parallel worlds, rendered simultaneously; State of Decay 3 has zombie animals, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is already a pretty well-known franchise and so is Warhammer 40K.
On the other hand, we have Returnal in PS5, which is a marvelously interesting title. This third-person RPG brings to life a horrific storyline about a middle-aged woman, trapped on a planet swarming with various dangers. Oh, and whenever the player dies, the planet changes a little.
Action-Adventure RPGs, a comparison

As for action-adventure RPGs, PS5 seems to have the edge in terms of popularity. While Xbox has notable titles like Hellblade 2 and Everwild, PS5 is set to release Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Horizon: Forbidden West. We are not questioning the quality on either side, as we have already had a glimpse of the Spider-Man and Horizon titles. Judging by the trailer, Everwild has proven itself to be a visual spectacle already, and Hellblade 2 doesn’t really need an introduction.
With so many brilliant games to look at on either side of the discussion, this year will definitely place gamers in a serious dilemma. We can’t contain our excitement and certainly can’t wait to lay our hands on them.
