Fans have been waiting for a long time for further details on the upcoming consoles of the year, and Xbox has finally revealed the release date and estimated retail prices of the Xbox Series X and Series S console. On top of this, Tom Warren, Senior Editor of The Verge, recently posted a tweet with a picture of the retail box of the Series X console.

Xbox Series X and Series S hands-on
The Xbox Series S console definitely is the smallest one in the Xbox family, but Series X is not so big either. The Series X has a stand that makes it stand upright, as shown during the reveal event for the console. In his hands-on review, Tom says that the Series S console, despite its small size, holds huge gaming potential.
“Microsoft is using the same Xbox Series X CPU inside the Series S only clocked 200MHz slower at 3.6GHz (3.4GHz with SMT). The Series S GPU works out to 4 teraflops of performance, designed to provide 1440p gaming at 60fps and beyond. There’s also 512TB of SSD storage and 10GB of GDDR6 RAM.”

He does not say much about the gaming potential of the Series X console, but he talks about the size of it. It is almost twice in width as compared to the Series S console. Its overall build makes it bigger than the previous line of Xbox consoles. As for the external hardware, the Series X features:

- An Ethernet port
- Storage expansion slot
- HDMI 2.1 out
- 4K Blu-ray drive
- Primary cooling at the top with “whisper quiet fans”.
Microsoft has priced the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles at $499 and $299, respectively. The market release for both the consoles is set to be on November 10. With Xbox revealing so much information about their upcoming consoles, PlayStation fans are left to wonder if Sony will be revealing more from their end as well.
