The trailer also revealed that the console will be 60% smaller than the Xbox Series X. It also confirmed the existence of the all-white Xbox Controller that was previously leaked. Along with that, it also showed that the console will support next-gen games and will have an ultra-fast SSD with great loading times.
Surprisingly, the trailer is still a leak and hasn’t been officially released by Microsoft. Considering the release was obviously unplanned, they should do themselves a favor can just release it as quickly as possible. The Series S was Microsoft’s worst kept secret, and there is no point in delaying the trailer reveal any further.
Apparently, this reveal was actually a good thing for Microsoft. They unveiled a lesser, cheaper counterpart of the Xbox Series X and now have an edge over Sony. Playstation had only announced an all-digital version and a disc+digital version of the PS5 and there is no news of a lesser counterpart. Consequently, Sony now has a lot of work to do regarding their launch for the PS5 and it’ll be interesting to see how this premature Series S launch will affect the folks over at PlayStation.
