Despite Halo Infinite ranking in the list of popular games on Xbox Game Pass, fans are fed up. Xbox Game Studios released Halo Infinite in late 2021, giving fans a brand new title of the series. The game dropped as the sixth edition of the entire Halo franchise and the third in the “Reclaimer Saga.” Fans highly appreciated this release, as it persuaded them to try their hands on this fresh title.

Xbox churned a massive player base during the initial time of Halo Infinite’s release as players from different parts of the world purchased the game. However, as time passed, players walked out of the game as they complained about facing multiple problems.

Fans baffled as Halo Infinite lists under the popular category on Xbox Game Pass

On July 22, 2022, popular video game journalist Benji-sales posted a photo featuring the list of popular games on Xbox Game Pass. The picture showcased some top-grossing games, such as FIFA 22, Forza Horizon 4 and 5, Rainbow Six Siege, and a few others. Fans highly appreciated this list, as it featured some of their most loved titles.

However, they could believe in one game that ranked on this list, as the title had received massive negative feedback in the past.

It was none other than Microsoft’s flagship shooter series, Halo. For those uninitiated, 343 Industries is the developer of Halo Infinite, a game that came out last year in November. The title turned into a grand success as the franchise witnessed a sharp incline in sales. But, as time passed, the player count dropped drastically as players could not find teammates to play with.

Here’s what a fan had to say about Halo’s current situation in the market. “Even if 60k players are playing Halo on Xbox, 20m tried it initially. So Halo lost 97% + of its player base in a matter of months. You love to see it!”

However, another fan had a different take on this as he said, “Using this as a point of reference you could make an educated assumption that Halo’s CCU must be more than 60k as PWS was below Halo at this point. It’s far higher than Steam numbers of about 4k fanboys use, that’s for sure.”

In conclusion, it is rare to see a game with such a low player count rank under the popular list, as there are multiple games on Xbox Game Pass that are doing much better.
