This event will be hosted by Geoff Keighley as a pre-show and will delve deep into the analysis, predictions, and insights about the games. You’ll also be able to play the demos for a while.

As exciting as this sounds, we still have a lot of unanswered questions. With the COVID-19 pandemic delaying everything, the Xbox price reveal and release date has been pushed even further. The same has been the case for a lot of games like this year’s Call of Duty. Usually, it is announced by May but this year we won’t hear of it until August.

Announcements at the Xbox Games Showcase

For all the questions, YouTuber ‘Rand Al Thor 19’ has some interesting points which may serve as potential answers. To start off, he says that we probably won’t get the price reveal or the launch date at the event. This showcase will only be focused on games, and we might get an update on the price later in August.

According to him, we may see smaller announcements like ‘Battle Toads’ and ‘Grounded’ at the event. There is also the possibility that we will get updates for Gears Tactics and Flight Simulator. Another game that might make an appearance is ‘Tell Me Why’, which is supposed to release in 3 chapters this year.

He also predicts that there will be some announcement around the Xbox Game Pass, which will have a lot of third-party and indie games to play. Final Fantasy 14 could also be announced at the main show or pre-show for Xbox. Microsoft may even reveal the trailer for Wastelands in the pre-show.

They may keep some low-profile games in the pre-show and will definitely keep the main event for the big-announcements.

There is also a reason behind the event being streamed in 1080p @ 60fps on YouTube. This is because Microsoft plans to make most of its games at 60fps as a standard to show what the Series X is capable of.
