Father’s Day is just around the corner and children around the world are preparing small surprises for their Dads. Might be something as simple as making him breakfast this Sunday or just gifting him a t-shirt of his favorite rock band. But one dad was planning to make this Father’s Day the most memorable day in his son’s life.
He bought tickets for the WWE Sunday Stunner Supershow happening at Charleston as a Father’s Day gift. He got them so his 5-year-old son and he could go see The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes live in action. The tickets were for the entrance aisle, hoping his son would be incredibly lucky to receive Cody’s weight belt. However, tragedy struck the duo as a schedule change put a dent in their hopes.

Rhodes’ schedule came out in early June and he was no longer coming to Charleston. The absence of their favorite superstar forced the dad to sell those tickets instead to recover the expenses of the trip.
To everyone’s amazement, they made a surprise announcement that Rhodes will be there on the 18th of June. But when the father-son duo tried purchasing the tickets, the WWE had sold out all the tickets.
As a last resort, the dad put out the entire story on Twitter while tagging Rhodes himself and anticipated that the American Nightmare gets a glimpse of it. He also specifically mentioned the ‘entrance aisle’ and his ‘weight belt’ to show how much it really meant to his son.
A tragic tale:
1. Got @wwe tickets for #WWECharleston as a Father's Day gift to go with my 5 year old son to solely see @CodyRhodes together. We get tickets on the entrance aisle so my son is close enough to maybe see Cody or get incredibly lucky to receive his weight belt. 1/3— Dustin Wood (@dustinmwood) June 14, 2023
However, a silver lining struck the duo as Rhodes himself made the arrangements to ensure the father son duo would be in attendance.
Cody to the rescue
Exactly 13 hours later after the father tweeted the dejected story, Rhodes replied. He acknowledged that “Road Dogg” Jesse J was instrumental in making this happen.
He also sent them a couple of tickets in their inbox so they could see him perform on Fathers day and have a meet and greet later. What an absolute treat!

A happy ending:
1. I was able to make #WWECharleston this Sunday a possibility, @BrianRDJames got me there!
2. Tickets are on me, check your DMs, can’t wait to see you https://t.co/53FDRc9keE— Cody Rhodes (@CodyRhodes) June 14, 2023
Fans were all mushy for Code’s warmth towards the father and son, having only good things to say about him. Seems like there is a new People’s Champ in town. So who needs a championship belt when fans shower you with so much love? Also, next time, if you are not getting tickets to a WWE event, you know what to do right…Kidding! Get them early on.
