Nia Jax was a force to be reckoned with during her time in WWE. They pushed her as the next biggest star in WWE women’s division. Being The Rock’s cousin, she came on strong and rose up due to her hard work right straight from her time in NXT. She was RAW Women’s Champion once and Women’s Tag Team Champion twice.

Nia Jax was the fourth woman in the history of WWE to enter the men’s Royal Rumble match and the first to enter two Royal Rumble matches on the same night. Her entering the men’s match was a hint for starting inter-gender one-on-one matches again in WWE. However, this ultimately never came to pass.

Nia said, “I remember getting the script, and they were just like, ‘Am I going to start wrestling the guys?’ and they were like, ‘Yeah, we think this is kind of cool. And I was like,’ ‘Hmm, I don’t know.’ I go to Dean [Moxley] and was just like, ‘I don’t feel comfortable with this. How are you?’ He’s (Jon Moxley) like, ‘Whatever, they’re just trying to f**king get me… I don’t want to hit you.”

She also added, “They had advertised us on a live event having a match and I was like, ‘what the heck is going on here? Are we doing this?’ At first, I thought it was kind of cool to do inter-gender matches, and would be super cool if we could go that route.”

Jon Moxley was going to leave WWE as he refused to re-sign with the company. WWE gave him a great send-off but gave Jon some bad scripts and bookings during his final days in the organization. Both were not comfortable having this inter-gender match program, and they later scrapped the plan.
