The 80s and the 90s were different times for wrestling. During that time, many wrestlers like Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, and Shawn Michaels emerged. However, the Hulkster ran wild in both WWE and WCW.

From being the top babyface in WWE by saying his prayers and taking vitamins to becoming the top heel in WCW with NWO, Hulk Hogan did it all in the industry.
During his time with WCW, Hogan took one booking outside the company. One of his memorable matches was in Canada against The Mountie Jacques Rougeau. It took place at a show which was organized by Mountie himself in his hometown of Montreal.

Jacques Rougeau, in an interview with Inside the Ropes, shared the actual story behind the match. He said, “We built up the match really good. All the press was there when he came into the airport, and before he got in his limo, I did an angle where I slapped him in the face. I was excited and I did it so hard, I loosened his tooth.”
Despite Hogan having his tooth loosened, he agreed to take the pinfall when he reached the arena. Rougeau continued, “But when we got to the building, he said he wanted to do the job for me. I thought he was joking. But he meant it. I let him beat me up the whole match, and then, I won with a small package. The place went crazy. Everyone still remembers it. Hulk told me he did it because of everything the Rougeau family contributed to wrestling in Montreal.”

This shows how much Hulkster has respect not only for wrestling, but the people who have kept the sport alive. As Hogan was a megastar at that point, he could have easily demanded the win. However, he went for respect and earned more than what he would have had he won. That being said, Hogan’s manager Jimmy Hart believed that ‘The Hulkster’ had another reason to get pinned.
The Dynamite Kid and Jacques Rougeau incident
This backstage feud is very famous amongst the fans. In the story per Jacques Rougeau, as The Dynamite Kid had bullied him backstage, Jacques punched him. This caused Dynamite Kid to lose some teeth. It is worth noting that Hogan was not a fan of the British Bulldog tag team of The Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith.

Jacques said, “But Jimmy Hart said Hulk Hogan respected me for what happened with Dynamite Kid, how it just stopped all the terrible ribbing that was going on. Because a guy like Dynamite, being on steroids and everything, he could have ribbed Hulk, too”
