Recently on The Kurt Angle Show alongside Paul Bromwell, they were discussing Kurt Angle’s Royal Rumble appearances. While talking, they came across the NWO storyline in WWE.
Kurt Angle on his match against Hulk Hogan
The NWO in WCW had backstage creative authority. It is said the NWO changed the outcome of any match in their favor. Angle said, “I didn’t see that when they came there. I think Vince kept them under wraps or their attitude changed but there was no problem with them at all.”

Angle recalled an incident of his match against Hulk Hogan at King of the Ring 2002. Vince was concerned because Angle had to make Hogan to tap out and Vince was sure Hogan would talk him out of it. Vince McMahon had major concerns over Hulk Hogan’s professionalism upon WWE return.
Angle said, “And it just blew my mind. I was nervous and scared and was inexperienced. I didn’t know what to think or expect. And Vince wanted me there to make sure Hulk Hogan didn’t talk him out of it.”
This was the first time Hogan was going to tap out in his career and Angle was really nervous when Vince told him to attend the meeting and make sure he abides the decision. However, Hogan was on board with the decision.

Angel has worked with the NWO members in WWE and TNA. He claimed there were no issues working with them and all of them went with the decisions made by the creatives.
Vince McMahon made NWO sit late on their first night in WWE
Kurt Angle in his show also said how Vince took his revenge with the NWO. Vince made them sit for the pre tapes till late. Angle said, “They came back, the first night they were there. Vince messed with them. Big time.”

All the NWO members were doing pre-tapes till 3 O’clock in the morning. Vince pushed the pre-tapes schedule and made them do it over and over. The NWO still will be a legendary team that changed the business. Be it in WWE or WCW, they were so over with the fans.
