Shawn Michaels, Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative of WWE, and his best buddy Triple H, Chief Content Officer of WWE, were on a hunt to recruit the best of the best talents from all around the world. WWE released a major update regarding new recruitment in the NXT fam. In just a matter of hours, WWE fans from all across the globe filled the comment section with their reactions, emotions, and opinions.

A couple of hours before, WWE went on to its NXT Twitter page to break out the news of a wrestler signing a contract with the NXT brand. And The wrestler is none other than Mexican Lucha Libre star Dragon Lee.

The tweet shows Lee announcing that he has signed with the company. He made this announcement during AAA Noche De Campeones after he won the AAA Tag Team Championships alongside Dralistico. Dragon Lee had just won the title with his brother, but relinquished his championship and made the shocking revelation.

Addressing the fans, Lee says, “I’m going to continue representing my country as I have done until now. My Mexico, this is for you and for all the people that had trusted me. so WWE there I go. 2023 is gonna be a new year for me. This is for Mexico. Let’s go. I’m very happy. Thanks to all the people who accompany me. That’s all thank you.”

After getting this news, fans went crazy over social media and expressed their eagerness to see ‘The Mexican ‘Luchador Enmascarado’ fighting inside the NXT ring. Fans have loved the decision of WWE to bring Dragon Lee to NXT.

According to ESPN sources, The Masked Professional Wrestler signed the deal with WWE earlier this month and will start the promotion in January. Lee said, in an ESPN interview, “I think I can become the new Rey Mysterio in WWE.”

 “I just need the opportunity. [Finn Balor] told me, ‘Would you like to be in WWE?’ [laughs]. I said, ‘Yeah, sure. Why not?’ … It was something special for me,” The Elite In-ring Worker added.

James Kimball, WWE’s head of talent strategy and operations, told ESPN, “Dragon Lee is a tremendous talent that will immediately add value to the NXT roster.”

Dragon Lee is a second-generation Lucha Libre Superstar. The son of a professional wrestler, La Bestia del Ring, has held many titles and won many battles worldwide. His unique, jaw-dropping, high-flying, super-athletic, acrobatic mat technician skills and abilities have earned him industry-wide respect. And now he is officially taking his talents to the NXT roster.
