During the podcast, Foley reveals the former pro wrestler gave him his “first full-time job.” The job was in the Memphis-based Continental Wrestling Association (CWA) founded by Jarret in 1977. He adds he got “three job offers” just “a few days” after “being mentioned in the Observer.”
“I just thought that the Jarretts had the best track record. My friend Brian Hildebrand, he was known better as Mark Curtis to WCW fans, he just loved the Memphis wrestling. He just loved everything about it; the studio, the feel, the live takes, and all that,” WWE Hall of Famer continues.
The color commentator claims that joining Jarret’s wrestling promotion was the best thing that happened to him. And he is “thankful” that the pro wrestling promoter “hired’ him. He also mentions that when the founder of the Continental Wrestling Association “purchased the World Class territory from Fritz Von Erich, that opened up the door” for the former pro-wrestler to go there too.
The 6’2 star confesses that during his time in World Class territory, he “received so much positive attention” and “caught the eye of people.” The 3-time WWF Champion mentions that all that happened because of Jarret.
