Austin was the special guest referee in the match. He watched it closely and still has the same opinion of the match. He said, “It was little boring and crowd knew that both guys were leaving. It was pretty hard crowd”
He further added, “I think the crowd expected was those two guys just to pound the sh*t out of each other and it didn’t really happen like that.”
Austin felt that it was not appropriate for that match to receive such trash talking from fans. It was at a Madison Square Garden and it was the grandest stage. Austin himself couldn’t save the match with his presence.
Brock and Goldberg both are good friends of Austin and he doesn’t like to bad-mouth them for this. He believes it was just a lackluster match as both of them were leaving. Austin planned to do something in the match but was not able to, as he was just a special referee.
