The WWE Universe has arguably never seen a wrestler scarier than Martin Wright aka The Boogeyman. The Nightcrawler came to WWE SmackDown in 2005 for the first time and made his in-ring debut in the same year at Survivor Series.

Wright left the whole WWE Universe shocked in Dec. 2005 when he pulled a handful of live worms out of his pocket in the center of the ring and ate them. He even used to force his opponents to eat those insects.

The 58-year-old wrestling legend hasn’t made an appearance in WWE since January 2021. But recently, he has been in the news for his recent health update.

Though Wright never became a title holder in WWE, he had one of the most interesting and unique gimmicks in the company. His feud with Booker T, and his wife, Queen Sharmell, is unforgettable as he faced both of the WWE superstars in a handicap match at WrestleMania 22 where he even kissed Sharmell with a mouth full of worms.

Wright also had a stint last year that also involved Bray Wyatt. First fans saw Wright at Royal Rumble after six years of hiatus, but The Eater of the Worlds eliminated him. Later in October, he shared a tweet standing next to Wyatt’s poster, hinting at a probable clash of the two superstars.
