Hulk Hogan is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, but he had his fair share of struggles in the early stage of his career.
The Hulkster is certainly the most popular and recognized name in the professional wrestling industry. The WWE Legend and Hall of Famer has earned worldwide recognition for his hard work and success. But his road to success was not an easy one.
Hulk Hogan faced many difficulties in the initial days of his pro wrestling career

In one of his documentary episodes, Mr. America mentioned how arduous his wrestling journey was. Hogan revealed he had to muster up the courage and leave his parents’ house if he wanted to accomplish something in life.
“I was still hanging around Florida and sucking off my parents basically and then there came a point in time where I needed to leave. If I was ever going to make it I had to leave,” said the 6-Time WWF/WWE Champion.
He also confessed that he had a super busy schedule when he started his career in wrestling. Sterling Golden said, “I was wrestling like seven days a week, seven matches in seven days. Sometimes eight or nine matches in seven days and I was making about 125 dollars a week.”
He added, “And a good friend of mine, Ed Leslie, who later became the barber beefcake, was with me from day 1. We had this van, and I slept on the floor of the van and he slept in the back.” Clearly, Hulkamania had to go through a lot of challenges in his life to be where he is right now.
The Hulkster saved Vince McMahon from serious allegations
During the early 90s, Mr. McMahon was in the news very much, but for all the wrong reasons. At the time, McMahon was accused of illegally giving steroids to his wrestlers. The Boss was summoned to the court and went under a trial.

Sterling Golden, being a big name during those days, had a great impact on Mr. McMahon’s trial. When asked by the court, The Hulkster straight up refused any claim of Vince McMahon, giving him any anabolic steroids.
During his testimony, Hogan confessed to consuming steroids for the sole purpose of healing his wounds and told the court that McMahon has nothing to do with it.
