Omos, real name Tolulope “Jordan” Omogbehin, had to separate from his family in Nigeria at the age of just 15. He had to come to America for the sake of his higher education.

But who would have thought that leaving his home country and coming to America would turn out to be a God’s blessing for him?

The 403-pounder once told the WWE Universe how moving to the land of opportunities saved him from the clutches of death.

America saved Omos’ life

In one of his interviews, the WWE Superstar confessed that his decision to move to America turned out to be a lifesaver. On the Out of Character podcast with host Ryan Satin, the wrestler explained how moving to America and receiving a scary medical diagnosis saved his life.

 

The Raw Brand superstar said that the doctors found that his “tumor was pressing against his optical nerves” and he had “literally a month or two from going blind; either going blind, having a cardiac arrest, or having a heart attack.” The doctors advised him to undergo surgery “as soon as possible”. 

The doctors told him he probably had it for like 10 or 12 years” of his life. And he didn’t know about it, the star added. He went on to say that after learning this news, his occasional blackouts made sense.

The Former Raw Tag Team Champion confessed that in his home country Nigeria, they didn’t “have the technology to figure it out.” That’s why when Omogbehin went to the doctors back there, they could not find out anything. Hence, coming to America saved his life.”

Omos was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor

The 7’3 wrestler attended the University of South Florida. And it was there that he found out that he had a tumor in his brain. One of the faculty members of his university discovered that he had a pituitary tumor and needs to get checked out ASAP.

This news completely shocked the professional wrestler. Despite such disheartening news, Omogbehin remained positive and underwent an MRI so that he could have peace of mind.”

His reports later revealed that he was suffering from a brain tumor, but the doctors did not know whether it was “benign” or “a cancerous tumor.” 

That was not it. The doctors found out that Omogbehin was also suffering from “partial Cushing’s disease,”. It is a rare disease and André the Giant also had it.

The Nigerian-born professional wrestler confessed that the entire experience was very “traumatic” and “overwhelming” for him. But it also taught him a lesson that he cannot control everything and he has accepted it.
