Roman Reigns got speared and the man who did it was none other than Sami Zayn. This week’s Friday Night SmackDown had a chaotic end courtesy of The Tribal Chief and The Honorary Uce.

Zayn had been receiving ill treatment from Reigns ever since their tag team loss against John Cena and Kevin Owens in the last episode of SmackDown in 2022. On Friday, the WWE Universe saw the SmackDown brand superstar finally doing something that the fans wanted him to do for so long — stand up against Reigns.

Fans react after Sami Zayn delivers a spear on Roman Reigns

The main event of the blue brand saw The Head of the Table addressing the crowd. Reigns claimed he gave The Honorary Uce “the opportunity of a lifetime” by giving him a spot in his family, in The Bloodline, but all Zayn, who backstabbed Reigns at Royal Rumble, did was “use” him and his family.

As The Big Dog continued to deliver his statement, Zayn came in from behind and attacked him. The long hair and bushy beard star knocked Reigns down for a bit, but The Tribal Chief got up on his feet and fought back. After delivering some punches and kicks to Zayn, he asked Paul Heyman to hand him a chair.

As Reigns went to attack Zayn with a chair, The Underdog from the Underground hit him with a spear. This move from Zayn received a loud pop from the crowd. Not only that, Zayn’s spear is being talked a lot about on social media too.

WWE Universal Championship is on the line

After taking The Head of the Table down with a spear, Zayn hit him with the steel chair. But Reigns escaped right on time. Then the Canadian wrestler picked up the mic and demanded a match for the WWE Universal Championship.

Unfortunately for Zayn, he was caught by the boots of Jimmy Uso, followed by Solo Sikoa’s Samoan Spike. Sikoa was almost on the verge of ending Zayn’s career by breaking his neck, but the Samoan Chief stopped him. Then the crowd started chanting Jey Uso’s name.

Reigns blamed the 3-time Intercontinental Champion for breaking his ‘Bloodline’ family. He granted Zayn’s wish and accepted his challenge. Just like Zayn broke The Bloodline, the greatest story of all time, the Undisputed Champion threatened he would “break him in front of his entire family,” at Elimination Chamber on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
