

John Cena has established quite a name for himself in the pro wrestling and film industry. Cena made his debut in the film industry with his first movie, The Marine in 2006. The Champ became a part-time performer in the WWE in 2017.
Since then, The 16-Time World Champion has graced the WWE ring occasionally with his special appearances.
Since Cena uses his WWE name for his acting gigs, it costs him a percentage of everything he does. And everyone’s surprise, The Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect Soldier is totally okay with it.

WWE owns the name, John Cena
During an interview on The Howard Stern Show, The Prototype revealed WWE has ownership of his name and WWE founder Vince McMahon gets a cut of all of his movies. Cena also confessed that having to pay Vincent McMahon a cut from all his movies does not bother the superstar at all.

Mr. P said, “Howard, before this [Wrestling career] I was a kid in a small Massachusetts town, mowing lawns for a golf course. I don’t mind kicking a percentage of my earnings to the person [Vince McMahon] who gave me a chance and an opportunity…”
The Face that Runs the Place has no problem sharing his profit with WWE since he believes it is “a sign of respect” and he “owes” Vince McMahon “a lot.”
