John Cena Once Disclosed Why Vin Diesel’s Initial Warning Gave Him a WWE Like Feeling After He Joined the Fast and Furious Franchise: “He Would Continue to Challenge Me”

John Cena is a fan favorite, and his success precedes his name. After leaving his mark in the world of professional wrestling, The Champ went on to establish his career in acting. And he passed his Hollywood exam with flying colors.

With his immense success in the ‘A-lister industry’, Cena bagged himself a spot in one of the most successful film franchises in Hollywood. Mr. P was a part of the ninth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise. In the movie, he played the role of Jakob Toretto, Dominic Toretto’s younger brother.

Cena once, in an old interview, revealed an instance about his experience involving Vin Diesel. Diesel plays Dominic Toretto in the movie.

Vin Diesel’s advice to John Cena

The Face of WWE sat down and had a chat on an episode of Access Hollywood released on 16 Jun 2021. During his interview, Cena disclosed a “warning” that Vin Diesel gave to him after he joined the Fast and Furious family. 

When the host asked the Cenaton leader a question on how Diesel greeted him on the “first day on set,” he replied with these words, “It’s not going to be easy and he reiterated that he would continue to challenge me and that’s exactly what he did. And I like that.”

The Doctor of Thuganomics confessed that this gave him a feeling like WWE. It was because the wrestlers underwent the “same process” in WWE. “You can be gifted as a performer, but you have to deliver. You have to go out and ‘wow’ the audience,” said the Peacemaker actor. 

Cena, who gives a cut of all his movies to WWE, added he was “given the opportunity,” and he “admires” it but “earned his way into the group.” He concluded his answer with — “the fast family” is a “very close dynamic network of people who care about fast and furious.”

Cena once chose Vin Diesel over Dwayne Johnson

In an interview with Pardon My Take podcast, the host gave The Prototype a choice between tequila with Johnson or Corona with Diesel. Cena quickly made his choice, and he chose the latter.

He “always wanted to be in a Fast barbeque”. And also he thought that there is “no match” to The Rock when it comes to “chugging tequila.” That’s why he chose Diesel.
