Ever since Cody Rhodes came out of his injury hiatus and won the 30-men 2023 Royal Rumble match, he has been in the spotlight. His main event match at The Showcase of Immortals this year against Roman Reigns is trending all over social media.

However, there is one person who seems to have directed a percentage of the Rhodes’ limelight to himself and that is Sami Zayn. With his current newly developed feud with The Tribal Chief at Royal Rumble 2023 and their upcoming match at this weekend’s WWE Elimination Chamber, Zayn has found himself at the center of the attention of the WWE Universe.

The American Nightmare was the special guest in the latest episode of The MMA Hour With Ariel Helwani. During the interview, he shares his take on the Canadian wrestler being a roadblock on his road to this year’s WrestleMania journey. The show host asks Rhodes “how would he feel about a triple-threat” match between him, Zayn, and Reigns at WrestleMania 39.

The former AEW EVP responds to this question by saying that he doesn’t really have a preference.” It is because he wants to ” wrestle the best.” He says, “People wanted a contender forever. So if two show up, don’t be mad. Don’t make it about A or B, or B or A, or one or two. Enjoy it all. That’s really been kind of the challenge. I can’t begrudge a dude for getting super hot.”

The 2-time WWE Intercontinental Champion says that he is really looking forward to” the triple threat match with The Big Dog and The Underdog from the Underground in case that happens. In addition, the 2023 Royal Rumble winner praises Zayn for his work and calls him “amazing.” Also, he doesn’t forget to mention that he himself has “been able to really do some great stuff too.”
