Becky Lynch, known for being a 6-time WWE women’s champion, is once again in the spotlight. But this time, it’s not about her winning another title. It’s about WWE legend Ric Flair apologizing to her. Becky’s 2-year-old daughter, Roux Lopez, was the reason behind the apology.

Ric Flair and Becky Lynch were involved in a heated controversy a few years back. And the reason for this was Lynch’s famous nickname, ‘The Man’. Even though WWE resolved the dispute, Lynch and Flair were not on good terms. However, ‘The Nature Boy’ set aside their differences on Raw XXX.

The 16-time world champion revealed that he apologized to Lynch and her husband Seth Rollins backstage during Raw’s 30th anniversary. He added that the couple took it well. The Hall of Famer mentioned that Lynch’s daughter acted as the catalyst for him selling the trademark and apologizing to her mother.

Ric Flair Apologized to Lynch

On his podcast “To Be The Man”, Ric Flair revealed,I apologized to Becky Lynch. I walked up to her and said, ‘May I speak with you for a minute?’ I just said I’m sorry this ever got to where it is’ I went over and shook Seth Rollins’ hands and I said, ‘I’m gonna apologize to your wife.’”

“It’s not that as much as the money that was involved in it, which the company reaps the better part of it anyway. Then I saw her with her child, and I thought, ‘God, this will be Ashley someday, and Megan now with Morgan It’s not worth it.”

Flair also felt happy about the fact that now the pair won’t feel uncomfortable while walking by each other and that makes him feel better.

“I can walk around and not walk by Becky and feel uncomfortable……. I feel better about myself. Becky was very receptive and said nice words to me, and so did Seth. My daughter works there, I want it to be perfect. “

Becky Lynch and Ric Flair’s dispute over “The Man”

In 2018, Becky Lynch was one of the most loved WWE superstars. During her feud with Charlotte Flair, the 35-year-old called herself “The Man”. The nickname became famous overnight. Moreover, Lynch’s ‘The Man’ T-shirt became one of the fastest-selling WWE merchandise that year.

However, there was a problem. WWE didn’t trademark ‘The Man’ nickname, and it gave Ric Flair an opportunity to take it back. The wrestling legend had referred to himself as ‘The Man’ since he joined WWE. Although he was popularly known as ‘The Nature Boy’, ‘The Man’ was also quite close to his heart.

In September 2019, Flair decided to register ‘The Man’ trademark. This started an off-screen battle between Lynch and the Hall of Famer.

But, in 2020, Flair settled the dispute by assigning the entire interest and goodwill of the trademark to WWE.

This shook the WWE Universe and fans questioned the decision of the 73-year-old over why he willingly gave up the nickname he was fighting for almost a year. Fans also suspected that Charlotte was the reason behind this, as the dispute had created tension between Ric and his daughter.

However, now it no longer remains a secret that it was Becky Lynch’s 2-year-old daughter who melted ‘The Nature Boy’s’ heart.
